Terms of Service
Version of 4 November 2026
1. Scope
These terms govern the use of Runbook ("the service"), a web application for recurring checklists, operated by metikular GmbH, Alte Hedingerstrasse 25a, 8910 Affoltern am Albis, Switzerland ("we", "us"). They apply between us and the organization that creates an account ("customer", "you"). The service is intended for businesses and professionals, not for consumers. By creating an account you confirm that you act for a business and accept these terms on its behalf.
2. The service
Runbook lets you create checklist templates, start runs manually, by schedule or via the API, check them off with your team, receive notifications and keep an audit trail. The features of each plan are described on the pricing page. We may improve and change the service; we will not remove a core feature of a paid plan during a paid period without offering a pro-rata refund.
3. Accounts
You sign in with a link sent to your email address. Keep access to your mailbox and your API tokens secure; actions taken with them are attributed to you. Owners of an organization manage its members, billing and data. You are responsible for the content you store and for the people you invite.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, to store content you have no right to, to send spam through notifications, to attack or overload the service or other systems, or to circumvent plan limits or security measures. We may suspend accounts that do so, after a warning where reasonable.
5. Plans, trial and payment
- The Free plan is free of charge, with the limits shown on the pricing page.
- The Team plan can be tried for 14 days without a payment method, once per organization. After the trial the organization returns to the Free plan unless you subscribe.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in Swiss francs through our payment provider Stripe. Prices for customers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein include Swiss VAT (currently 8.1%). Customers abroad are charged the same amount; where the reverse-charge mechanism applies, you account for VAT in your country.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; the new price applies from the next renewal, and you may cancel before it.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it. If it keeps failing, the organization may be moved to the Free plan.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time in the billing portal (Settings → Plan and billing). The plan stays active until the end of the paid period; there is no partial refund for the remaining time of a period, except where required by law or stated in section 2. If you are unhappy within 14 days of your first payment, write to hello@metastic.ch and we refund it in full. When a plan ends or is downgraded, your data is kept, but features and limits of the new plan apply (for example, schedules are paused).
7. Your data
Your content remains yours. We process it only to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy, which also serves as our data processing terms for personal data you store in the service. Owners can export all data of an organization as JSON at any time and delete the organization; deleted data is removed from backups within 30 days.
8. Availability and support
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is kept short. Support is provided by email; Business customers get priority.
9. Liability
Runbook is a tool that helps you follow your procedures; you remain responsible for the procedures themselves and their outcome. To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. Liability for slight negligence, indirect or consequential damage, lost profit and lost data is excluded. In any case, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the damaging event.
10. Term and termination
The contract runs until you delete your organization or account. We may terminate a Free account with 30 days' notice, and any account for serious breach of these terms with immediate effect.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will notify owners of material changes by email at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland.
